Projects & Impact
Making a tangible difference in our communities and for our environment.

In a high-impact partnership with APM Terminals Liberia, HYSAA Liberia Inc. spearheaded a groundbreaking project to transform Plastic Non-Biodegradable waste into durable construction materials. This initiative focused on tackling two of the most challenging waste streams in the maritime sector: large-scale industrial plastics and end-of-life tires.
Utilizing our proprietary recycling technology, we successfully converted these non-biodegradable materials into high-strength, interlocking eco-paving stones. These stones are specifically engineered to withstand Liberia’s heavy rainfall and high-traffic conditions. This project serves as a model for the "Circular Economy" in action—turning industrial liabilities into valuable infrastructure assets for the Freeport of Monrovia and the surrounding community.
Key Impact
Industrial Waste Diversion: Successfully diverted significant volumes of heavy-duty tires and industrial plastics from local landfills.
Green Infrastructure Development: Provided a sustainable alternative to traditional concrete paving, reducing the carbon footprint of port infrastructure projects.
Corporate Sustainability Leadership: Empowered APM Terminals to achieve tangible environmental milestones in their Liberian operations.

In a landmark partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), HYSAA Liberia is tackling plastic pollution head-on. Our Livelihood and Employment Creation project transforms plastic waste into opportunity.

We actively encourage our clients to sort waste at the source, which is crucial for a successful recycling chain. Our teams then collect these recyclables, and our facility processes the plastic, diverting thousands of tons from our rivers and landfills.
Key Impacts:
- Environmental Restoration: Significantly reducing plastic pollution in our communities and waterways.
- Economic Empowerment: Creating vital green jobs for local youth in collection and processing.
- Community Partnership: Empowering citizens and businesses to build a cleaner, more sustainable Liberia together.
